The Kindred traveled south along Rock Creek Parkway in the Sabbat in a caravan of two armored SUVs from the Giovanni expeditionary force. They passed security into the city using Inner Image at 11:48 p.m. on Sunday, December 18. The Giovanni Incursion was chased by Sabbat patrols to marker 1. Gwenevive Rossellini of the Giovanni unleashed one of her Spiriti onto a Sabbat tailing vehicle, causing it to crash. A second group of assailants, a pack of shapeshifted Gangrel antitribu, ceased their tail at marker 1 for reasons unknown at 11:59 p.m.

The Kindred ditched their vehicle at marker 2, sending their ghouls on to flank the Island. The Kindred moved on foot to the bank of the river. Rose shifted into an attack dog and all made it across the icy waters of the Potomac to the shore of Roosevelt Island. The Kindred opt for the route “by sea” as jumping from the heights of the Roosevelt Bridge onto the island is beyond the physical ability of most in the raiding party.

The vehicles carrying Benjamin and the Giovanni ghouls exited onto 66. The ghouls attempted to flank the Cult of Hirut on the island by traveling through the Tremere barrier. The nasty wards have no effect on humans or ghouls, and are in fact undetectable to most non-Kindred.

The Kindred arrived on the banks of Roosevelt Island shortly after midnight on Monday, December 19. Rose, known as Tala to her compatriots, flew into a frenzy and rushed in Celerity to find and attack Hirut.

The main battle was joined in the center of the isle. Hirut had already risen minutes before in the center of the ritual space. She had already created a crater where she had slept and had already polished off one thinblood sacrifice. She was moving on to her second of the night when caught by Rose. The hound leapt at the ancient and ripped her arm off, freeing the sacrifice, Allie. It was also in this location that Fat Eddie, a S’eth Adar fighter, shot Asa. It is in the general vicinity where Zachary confronted Damien and rescued (?) Primogen Bingham.

Hirut escaped through the Bubble at the footpath, using a shriveled demon hand to rip a small hole in the wall. This is also the area (after the initial battle) where Benjamin would have his arm accidentally ripped off and then healed.

The ghouls flanked the Cult by crossing the bridge onto the Virginia side. Before they reached the footbridge onto the Island, they were attacked by a few cultists and a retreating Hirut, who grabbed Giuseppe and Elizabeta on her way. The ghouls fired upon the assailants, but Hirut was far too fast for them.

Gwen wrested the screaming head from Jinx. Rose would confront her here as well, nearly killing her. However, the sight of her brought Rose out of her frenzy. Jinx read Rose’s mind. Rose offered no resistance. Jinx escaped with the head, going into a high level of Obfuscation.

The Kindred found Cedric, his mind warped by the Malkavian cultists.

Ghouls were tasked with stealing a boat. The ghouls from the Embassy commandeered the Spirit of the Potomac and picked up Asa, Zachary, Gwenevieve, Tala, Benjamin and the other Giovanni ghouls as well as four thinblood survivors, Cedric of Clan Malkavian and Jordan of Clan Ventrue.

The Spirit of the Potomac was steered to the south and dropped off the Kindred at the causeway near the Embassy before the Coast Guard had a chance to realize that the stolen yacht wasn’t on a scheduled path.
