Cronache della Sindone:

The Spirit of the Potomac

Notes by Xamot

Sunday, December 19th, 1994

I made it to the shore of the island where I happened upon the woman again, having been apprehended by Tala. Unfortunately for me, she allowed the Malkavian to read her mind, showing her everything we’ve discovered thus far. If I were able, I would have had the incompetent Gangrel staked and killed on the spot, but I’m afraid the means were not available to me. For now, I am forced to work with the neonates, regardless of their status as liabilities. As it happens, the Malkavian who stole the artifact from my hands is, apparently, her ex-girlfriend, which could mean possibility for me. Tala being attracted to women, and her obvious emotional vulnerability means I will have easy opportunity to manipulate her to my advantage.

After that, the Malkavian attempted to flee. I caught up to her in the water and grappled her, but when I began to drink from her veins her blood caused me to hallucinate and incapacitated me. Apparently nobody else was willing or able to intervene to secure what could possibly be the only lead we could’ve obtained from the site. Jinx, as I later learned her name was, got away with the skull.

Not only that, I discovered that Giuseppe and Elizibetha had been captured by the cultists as they (the cultists) made their escape from the island. I will search for them when the opportunity arises, though I fear that may be some time from now.

We escaped from the island on a pleasure yacht commandeered by one of my ghouls, and we from there fled to the embassy. The licks that are now accompanying have proven that they are unreliable, save for the prophet, and they only continue to prove this to me in the following nights. A weaker Giovanni would likely drown under the pressure. I will endure.
